We live and work by an old Chinese proverb: “tell me, I’ll forget; show me, I’ll remember; involve me, I’ll understand.”  We believe in teaching, educating and working with our clients towards action. We understand you might “want” to feel better and that most people experience a block between wanting and taking action. We help our clients to identify the blocks (aka -parts) and how to heal from the inside out. 

Marriage and Family Therapist

With over 10 years of experience Amanda helps clients find inner peace through the lens of what they’ve experienced in their family.

She helps couples resolve conflict, co-parent and she helps individuals struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression as well as career and academic related issues. 

Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern

Shannon has years of experience in addiction, grief and loss as well as working with families and couples who have experienced trauma related to addiction.

She is also loves working with ages 12 and up. She has the ability to connect and engage while facilitating lasting change.

Mental Health Counseling Intern

Kristen has found her place in the mental health and excels at working with young moms, grief, anxiety, separation and teens.

She is passionate about reflecting, self-compassion and spent many years in the school system helping children learn to believe in themselves.

How it Works?

The first meeting will be filled with lots of questions, consents and figuring out what the goals are.

Setting Goals

Most of us know we feel uncomfortable on some level. We feel like we’ve tried everything we can think of. It sometimes feels like nothing has worked. When we set goals together we will consider different parts of you that want change, parts that do not want to change and if there was some sort of change what life might be like.

Taking Action

Nothing changes, if nothing changes. That’s one of our favorite lines. Taking action can be extremely uncomfortable, you might try and stop and try again. We are here to explore with you the risks and benefits of not changing, of continuing to do exactly what’s always been done. You get to decide how your life goes and we can help you figure out what you want that to look like and how to get there.

We can’t take action for you but we can certainly support your efforts.

Reflecting

Right now try this, ask yourself a couple questions:

  2. How did you get here?

And then acknowledge whatever you’ve been through in your life, you are here right now reading this. You are showing up for yourself. Maybe no one has ever showed up for you and that feels lonely, or unsafe, yet here you are.

It’s so easy to dismiss or minimize our accomplishments. So far you’ve survived all of it.
